Who are we?
Sweet Knee is a family run business. Mama Platt is the brains and the beauty behind the operation. She developed the concept of Sweet Knee out of necessity when her son developed a severe skin irritation at birth that did not respond to anything over the counter or even to prescribed steroid creams. Her amazing bun glaze did the trick. Today you can find her answering the phones, formulating products, scouting out top notch ingredients from around the world, designing packaging, naming products and well staying busy.
Papa Platt is the biggest cheerleader imaginable. Always the optimist, he is the reason Mama Platt had the courage to venture into the world of Sweet Knee. He also is the entire shipping department. He lovingly packages all of our orders without allowing any of those nasty packing peanuts to come within a 5 mile radius of our precious products. He also built the laboratory for Sweet Knee inside one of the most beautiful and unique architectural buildings in SC. Luckily grandpa Platt is an architect extraordinaire.
You know that there is a Sweet Knee in the bunch! Baby Sweet Knee is our quality control guru. Nicknamed Sweet Knee for a rather unique crawling style, the name has become synonymous with unique, quality skin care without synthetics or chemicals.

How is Sweet Knee different from the competition?
We go beyond the labels of organic and natural to research the best flowers and plants for the special needs of babies and children. Botanicals have been used for hundreds of years as “medicine” and society is now coming back to nature for answers. We search out the best quality botanicals available for our products; each is inspected for freshness, color, aroma and growing methods and conditions for workers. Because we hand craft our products in small batches, we are able to maintain the highest standards.
Are your products tested on animals?
No, unless you count the human kind. We have some very colorful characters that test our products; and some delightful babies too. Our most well-known tester is Carson “Sweet Knee” Platt, the inspiration for the product line; so named for a rather unique crawling method. Carson uses all of the Sweet Knee® products on a daily basis and even giggles when the bun glaze container comes into sight.
What would you like for parents to know about Sweet Knee?
We want you to know that we provide full disclosure of ingredients with nothing hidden behind clever wording such as “fragrance”, “proprietary ingredients” or made up names. What you see is what you get. You can understand every ingredient in our products; they all come straight from nature. There is enough to worry about as a parent; we want to make choosing skin care for your baby a worry-free process.
